I am going to global-warming hell for using 16.45 ton annually, well above the US average.

Is it possible that your evil capitalist consumer sister has a smaller environmental footprint that you do? Maybe all those trees we are planting growing organic fruit trees fertilized by llama crap makes up for not wearing ugly hemp bags for clothing and riding our bikes to work. I love it when a plan comes together.
I was 11 tons. Crazy when you think about it. How are things in NB? I'll be a daddy in about 5 more weeks! Crazy! I'll have to be responsible now. Jason
Interestingly enough, it doesn't seem to be the flights that make the difference.
I don't have a car and take on average 4 extended flights (>5000 miles). My footprint was 3.9 I then started trying to estimate how far I travel by bus/no. people on the bus per trip, adding in the odd car rental on top. This is what happened:
4 flights + 200 miles by car: 5.85 4 flights + 500 miles by car: 8.8 4 flights + 1000 miles by car: 13.7

So what is your score?

I was 9.1 tons. It is the flying that really makes it go up. I was really quite low until I added the few trips I take each year.
My score was 7.4 right around average. I think we could apply for llama poop credits against all the plastic that our kids toys come wrapped in.
Hey Jason - congratulations on your impending parenthood!!! That is so great. We will await photos of the little sweetie.
Congrats Jason!

Now that is scary!
Mich
Mich, I think you also need to factor-in that you work for "big-oil" and not for a nice, clean industry like mining or tobacco...
I was 7.65, thanks to flights and rental truck in the summers.
Fair cop!
Can't stop, got to go and present some structural interpretations to BP :-S
Have fun figuring out where the next lot of drill holes should go!
